Drumlin Farm and Boston Aquarium

Lots of pictures of Drumlin Farm on this blog! We have a pass, so we tend to take a lot of visitors there with us. Addison, Nicole and Derek came down for a visit, so we of course had to take them there.

We decided to celebrate Veteran's Day by taking Anna to the Boston Aquarium, via commuter rail. She enjoyed her first ride on a train...however, she was slightly afraid of most of the creatures at the aquarium. The penguins were the only animals that didn't make her cry and beg to be picked up by Daddy.

Yard Work

Anna and Daddy enjoying a little raking time outside on Halloween day.

Halloweenie-Buzz Buzz!

Halloween with a 2 yr. old is a little bit better than with a one year old. :-) Anna's first Halloween consisted of us dressing her up in a pumpkin onesie, and her pooping all over it in a matter of 10 minutes. Last year, she didn't really get what was going on, except that it was fun to put on a big fluffy costume and walk into furniture. This year, she actually could answer the question "what are you going to be for Halloween?" And she could buzz appropriately. Here's a photo comparison:

Tanta and Mike's wedding

They did it! My Tanta (aunt) and her boyfriend of many years, Mike, finally tied the knot! We are all so excited for them. Scott and I had a great time whooping it up at the wedding a few weeks ago. Anna stayed with Nana for the evening so we could have some "adult" time without having to worry about eating or sleeping schedule.

Happy Birthday Anna

Tomorrow Anna turns 2! (I know I can't believe it either!) Erika and I feel truly blessed to have Anna in our lives. She provides us endless hours of enjoyment and makes us happy. Everyday she continues to surprise us with what she says and what she knows. She makes us laugh and smile everyday - even when she is doing something naughty we still have to laugh. The last two years were so much fun we can not wait to see what the future holds.

Wipeout - here is a photo of Anna taking a spill in the backyard during her party. See, I told you she is funny!

2nd Birthday

Anna celebrated her 2nd B-day Saturday. Here are a few photos. Anna isn't really interested at looking and smiling at the camera these days ...

Pre Party

Here is Anna pre birthday party (Erika is on vocals). Sorry you have to watch the video with your head tilted.

a walk in the woods...

Erika and I took Miss Anna on a walk in the woods 2 weeks ago. We went for a walk in GreatBrook State Park in Carlisle, MA. Anna like collecting acorns, leaves and old pieces of corn. it was chilly so Anna had to use a Patriots towel as a blanket.

Nana Kelly's 97th Birthday (no, not a typo!) and Apple Picking

Last weekend, Scott's Nana turned 97! Yes, she's 97 and she's still such an amazing lady. Scott's mother hosted a family birthday party for her. I should have taken a picture of Nana Kelly...instead I took a picture of Anna and Madeline, patiently awaiting a giant piece of cake and ice cream.

Group shot of all Nana Kelly's great-grandchildren in attendance at the party (there are a few missing...)
We took Anna apple picking at Shelburne Farms in Stowe. It was a mad house-alas, I did not get my long-awaited cider donut, since the line for donuts and ice cream was ABOUT 45 MINUTES LONG!!! Craziness. Who in their right mind would put donuts and ice cream in the same line? At 4:30 on a sunny fall Saturday? The highlight of Anna's apple picking trip was spotting one of her daycare ladies and her son, (the real) baby Chase, in line behind us. Anna loves baby Chase so much that she named her favorite doll Chase.

This is from the weekend before the apple picking. We went to Verrill Farm for its grand opening after burning down a year ago. Anna loves "tiny" pumpkins.

Miss Personality

Anna is a gal of many faces and personalities--and it always keeps us laughing. Here's her latest favorite face. She says "Mama, look at this!" and proceeds to stretch her cheeks out wide. Must have learned it at daycare.

The new rose of sharon that we planted next to the house. We got this picture, but were unable to get a family shot because Anna decided to pitch a fit in the driveway...can't tell from her pleasant smile in this shot!

Anna doing "Cheers!" with Scott

Scott went down to the basement to get some beer, and came back with a shopping cart full. He thought it was hilarious to have Anna push a pink cart full of beers around the kitchen. She wanted a sip...

To all You Faithful Blog Readers....

My apologies for slacking off on posting here for the month of August. Life has been unbelieveably hectic for all of us. Scott does not have his usual oopf to post after work, and neither do I for that matter! Work has been busy for us both, and we've been road tripping a lot. So here's four or five delayed postings....enjoy!

Davis Farmland

Scott had a few Fridays off this August, so we took a trip to Davis Farmland in central MA. It's a great place for kids--they have a petting zoo with lots of animals roaming around freely, and a pretty big splash park for the little ones to run around and cool off. Anna was slightly afraid of the animals (especially the goats and chickens) but she loved the splash park!
