The Big 3-0!
I surprised Erika with weekend away to Ogunquit Maine. We had a nice relaxing time shopping, staying up late (and sleeping late), swimming in the fog, bowling at a 100 yr old open air bowling alley and celebrating her last weekend as a 20-something. Thanks to Nana and Pa for watching Anna for the weekend! She had fun. Happy B-Day E!

New favorite "peeps"
Anna has some new favorite "peeps"--baby Caroline, and baby Chase! Baby Chase is slightly freaky-looking, and was her favorite possession for about a week. Then, she decided to ditch Chase for Baby Caroline, a cloth crinkly baby doll that's slightly below her age range for toys, but hey, she likes it! Here are some pictures of Anna (looking very grown-up) and her babies.

Strawberry Picking
Meemee and Grampy came down for Father's day weekend. To celebrate, Scott took Grampy and Pa to the Red Sox game on Saturday night, and then Scott went again on Sunday with me (although it terrible weather!)
There was a bright spot on Saturday morning, so we took that opportunity to go pick some strawberries.

Happy Times
Nana and Pa celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on Sunday. Erika and I had a cook-out to honor them. Nana and Pa enjoyed their time with all 5 of their grand kids. Too bad the weather wasn't a tad better but we still had fun. The kids ran outside the second the rain drops stopped. Thanks Nana and Pa ... for everything! 143

Mommy Time Out
Memorial Day weekend marked my first official trip away from Miss Anna. I found myself at several different moments in the airport and also once I arrived in Charleston, SC, thinking "What the heck am I doing? Is this going to be fun to be away from Scott and Anna for 5 days?" I was a bit homesick at first, but once I relaxed and headed to the pool, I know I would be fine. I did things that I did pre-Anna: went to a leisurely bodyflow yoga class (taught by Brittany, no less), shopped uninterrupted, and even went out for a night on the town with the girls--we didn't leave the house until 10:30, a half hour later than my normal bedtime! I survived, and even had a super time. We also spent lots of time at the beach where I underestimated the sizzle power of the Charleston sunshine. It was a fun vacation, but I was ready to come home by Wednesday to see my girl and my hubby. Thanks to Scott for giving me such a great Mommy Time Out. Here are a few pics from my trip.

First Dip of the Summer
Messy Eating...and Potty Time!
I love to feed my daughter's obsession with the messiest food on earth-frozen blueberries, partially thawed and smooshed into oatmeal, and eaten with little messy fingers. Oh well, at least she's eating something healthy--I'll count my blessings while I have them.

Anna's other new obsession--the potty! Not that she does anything on it...except pose while yelling "cheese" and gesturing like I should take her picture. She did once pee on her little potty, but I think that was a total fluke since it hasn't been replicated since. It's a "wee" (sorry I had to do it!) bit early for training, but I thought I would get her and Potty acquainted sooner rather than later. I promise that this is as pornographic as we'll get on the blog!

Yard Sale-ing It!!
We decided to have a yard sale to get rid of some excess crap that was clogging our basement. So one sunny Saturday, we filled out driveway with the crap and hoped other people would want to buy it. You wouldn't believe how many people asked if Anna was for sale. :-) Anna enjoyed running around and demonstrated how she might have a promising career as a Walmart greeter by saying "Hi!" to everyone who showed up.
